Handmade pillow made from Guatemalan textiles. This jade pillow is from a vintage Mayan Almolonga huipil (blouse), most likely from the 1980s. Almolonga is a village in the northern highlands of Guatemala, known for being very fertile and for the amount of veggies harvested. This textile is handwoven on a backstrap loom and embroidered. Jade was once more valuable to the Mayans than gold!
The interior of the pillow is interfaced to protect the textiles.
Backing is a linen and rayon blend with an invisible zipper closure.
